So how will Spotify, Apple Music etc cope with syndicates that will flood their platforms with Ai music ???

We’re all here to make money at the end of the day. What you’re feeling now is exactly how the DJs who used vinyl felt when others switched to USBs and CDJs with auto-sync function

Do you create music for fun or profit?

Well it will mean more profit for them? So it kinda works in their favour doesn’t it?
Well that’s if people will be consuming that music

Sol you and your buddies want to monopolize the music scene. Back in the 80s a lot of artist used computers to generate music......there was no outcry. Let other kids earn bread.
They not stealing nor robbing anyone.

Lol so how do you copyright AI content?
Can you get royalties from same pool as real artist? How would one perform AI music live with a band or what?

That doesn’t matter to the consumer. If the AI generated music sounds the same as human made music, why should I be bothered?

Easy: Does AI music make money for them? If the answer is yes- Then welcome to the new age. AI music to the skies.

If the Answer is No- Then you are safe- they will find a way.

Goal of AI is to make good and services available at lower to zero cost. Abundance. Given geopolitics some nations will be deprived. Almost all industries will be disrupted. Those who sit in front of computer & use brain, will be first and easy victims

A(Artificial Intelligence)I in music isn’t new, it’s just the next evolution.
People played real instruments then FL Studio came & suddenly everyone was producing on computers, now AI lets you turn thoughts into full tracks in minutes.
It’s not “ruining” anything, it’s just ×100 faster.

Still wanna play live guitar? Cool.
Love FL Studio ? Dope.
Wanna prompt a whole song? Also valid.

Anyone who turns a thought into music is an artist. Period.

Only a handful of artists actually perform live these days, lots of miming. I bet the older generation wouldn't approve. Music just like everything else will evolve. You either evolve with it or get left behind...

Even on fruity loops you still need to play the guitar, u don't tell it to play the guitar.

But prompting is not creating. You don't create the chords or melodies or the bass, it's like going to mug n bean and specifically ordering something and claiming you made it

Willing buyer, willing seller... People buy good music, irrespective of how it was made. So, there's nothing to deal with, they (Spotify, Apple Music etc) are running a shopping mall for Music, their business model will not change!

DSPs use cloud infrastructure, so they have limitless capacity. Collectively, they currently host over 250M tracks, and handle uploads of about 106K daily. The more tracks the merrier, for DSPs. They aren't concerned with "music talent", that's the territory of A&Rs and managers.

This isn't a new problem for them. Just look at the app store. Anyone has been able to easily build apps, but they have protections in place that prevent people generally from uploading slop that provides no value.

I just downloaded that Suno AI app. The first song I made in 10 seconds is a beautiful deep soulful House with Zulu lyrics.

The music industry is about to enter a completely new era.

Things will never be the same again.

I think AI is going to work best for people who are already in the industry, as it will enhance their music. With AI, you still need to prompt it correctly, which is something a chance-taker or someone unfamiliar with music will struggle to do.
