These devices were actually fun to use unlike smartphones. Most dullest and boring devices ever. They have zero personality

They built their phones around buttons and the future had no plans for buttons

They failed to adapt just like Blackberry. Sony Ericsson was also in the same space

They built futuristic devices in the present at that time but didn’t plan for the future. Thats why they failed.

Nokia didn’t “run out of ideas.” In fact, they were ahead of their time. Devices like the Communicator series had email, web browsing, multitasking and full keyboards long before smartphones became mainstream.

They believed Symbian OS was God of softwares and underestimated Android and iOS.

What Nokia underestimated wasn’t innovation it was the shift in software ecosystems. When iOS and Android arrived, the future of phones became apps, developers and platforms, not just hardware.

Watch this documentary on Prime Video, then you will understand their biggest mistake

Their only sin was to opt for Microsoft operating system instead of Android on that Lumia. From there it was downhill

The "future" cared more about specifications than design. Vast majority of phones today is identical to each other. It would take innovation before they can apply creativity like this.

Nokia owns virtually every patent necessary to make a modern Smartphone they gave up on the innovation business and move on to ownership and passive income.

The 9000 Communicator was basically a laptop in your pocket while we were still playing Snake. Legends.

They focused more on hardware design of which was pointless. People want a nice simple phone, the software is where they should have focused on.

They simply messed up by not switching to android in time. That's it

Using Windows instead of Android is what actually killed them. Their first few generations of touchscreen phones were promising, but Windows operating system was utter shite.
